You can certainly hire someone privately, however there are many benefits to hiring someone through an agency or registry. At FirstLantic, all of our caregivers go through a strenuous hiring process. They are all licensed and/or certified. All of our caregivers are supervised by a registered nurse. FirstLantic is also responsible for making sure that you always have a caregiver, even when your regular caregiver takes a day off. Who is responsible for paying for the caregiver? FirstLantic will provide the caregiver bi-weekly paychecks, satisfying any taxes and obligations to the government.
